Each morning, my goal is to experience quiet and stillness before the first "mommy." Now "Mommy" can be experienced as a beautiful song to my soul or like a live grenade. Multiple "Mommy"s coming from 4 different directions feel like a pellet storm. Even when I set aside time to get up earlier to beat the crowd, they somehow sense this as well and get up sooner! Though there are many great reasons to hold a retreat, especially a Christian yoga one, one of them is certainly to get away from the noise in life. I think it is important to make time for ourselves in order to truly be still. During these 2 and a half days with other women seeking to know God on a deeper level, I will also be hoping to regain perspective to hear the cries of "Mommy" as beautiful songs of love from my adoring children and to be grateful that I get to have them. So make time to get away. Remember Ecclesiastes 3:1,8b "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: ...a time for war and a time for peace." Now is the time for Peace!
