Yellowstone, Yoga and Purity

This past week I spent time enjoying Yellowstone National Park.  I was so amazed how wildlife, forests, mountains, lakes, and desert all come together iced with waterfalls, hot springs, mud pots and geysers.  God's creation at Yellowstone boasts of glory attracting an international audience because its landscape is set apart and preserved.  Yellowstone's purity also made me keenly aware of the man made world I allow to taint me.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,  filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.--Philippians 1:9-11

Several days in nature gave me a purified perspective, I could "discern what is best."   When bombarded with the high pressure world, I am less loving, less discerning and often anxious. The quiet dark room of the yoga studio is effective, yet still synthetic.  Perhaps we should consider purifying the environment around us?  The season is changing and God’s creation is on display in many places.  Get out to a park, breathe, and experience God’s glory more clearly in a more natural setting!
